Unfortunately, I had gotten engaged around that time of my life, so most of the photos are with my ex

HERE’S A POST ABOUT MY HAIR
And the little insecurities I have with it.
I like my hair short. I love it when people tell me that they like my hair short.
My first boyfriend (the one who abused me) liked it short, so I grew it out when we broke up. I used it for some cosplay and my next boyfriend (future fiance) loved it long. And it kinda made me feel like a bombshell. But then that’s all I was. Big boobs and long hair. I got so tired of being Bigboobs Longhair. I hated it.
That’s around the time the Ryan thing happened and I needed to rein myself in because, dammit, I am a loyal person and I didn’t need temptation to cheat on Ian. And, as I saw it, guys liked me as Bigboobs Longhair. Get rid of the hair, I get rid of the guy.
Soooo… I cut it. And I looked hella cute with a little bob (there are cuter pictures of me with a bob, but the ex is in them and let’s just not). Worked. Shows how much of my value was my hair.
It worked too well.
Soon after Ian was sleeping with this girl with ugly-ass long hair. It was seriously— she had these ugly highlights (which I’ve seen on people I like and I just pretend it never happened) but her hair was long. And I knew he liked long hair. And I had just cut mine. The connection was so strong to me, that I will forever associate my hair with my value.
So posts about “girls are only pretty with long hair, long hair is the best” hurt the hell out of me. They remind me of that worthless feeling. They remind me that there are several people out there who only valued me as Bigboobs Longhair.
Bonus story: I bought my first chest binder, not for cosplay, but to hide my boobs so that hopefully someone would see me as more than them.
I’m just gonna leave this here, mostly because I forgot to tell that story.
